Membership

- The Superintendent's Student Advisory Council will be comprised of a group of students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring representation of various student demographics, including race, ethnicity, gender, academic interests, extracurricular involvement, etc. 

- Preferred number of representatives from each school:

  • Greene County Middle School (6)
    • 2 representatives from each grade level
  • Greene Central High School (6)
    • 1 representative from each grade level
    • 2 representatives from the school at large
  • Greene Early College High School (5)
    • 1 representative from each grade level

- Students will be selected by an application process, which will be reviewed by district-level staff.

  • Application opens in September
  • 2 teacher references required

- A completed parent permission form is required.

Expectations of the Student Council Members

- Adhere to the Student Handbook/Code of Conduct.

- Serve a one-year term that begins in October and concludes in May.

- Participate in bi-monthly meetings with the Superintendent.

  • October, December, February, April, and an End of Year Event

- Discuss perspectives of the student learning experience within Greene County Schools.

- Effectively communicate with the student body to seek input and feedback.

- Work collaboratively to find solutions to problems and advocate for positive change.
