Certified Positions

Greene County Schools offer the following one-time bonuses as an incentive for teachers:

  • $2500.00 signing bonus if licensed in specific areas - Math, Science, and Exceptional Children OR
  • $2500.00 signing bonus for a graduate of the Greene County School System who is licensed in any licensure area OR
  • $1000.00 signing bonus for all licensure areas except Math, Science and Exceptional Children

Other incentives offered:

  • $1500.00 Signing Advance (this is an advance; interest free)
  • $1000.00 annual supplement (supplement is paid 1/2 in December and 1/2 in May)
  • $2000.00 annual retention bonus through the 2023-2024 school year
  • $5,000 salary supplement from the North Carolina General Assembly. This amount may vary slightly from year to year.

Classified Positions

Teacher Assistant Qualifications:

  • Must hold an associate degree, have successfully completed 48 hours, or WorkKeys Career Readiness Certification (including the writing test) requirements. (Additional coursework/professional development is required when qualified by the WorkKeys Certification).

All other classified applicants should have related work experience, training certificate(s) or educational credits in the area seeking employment.

School Bus Drivers Needed

The Greene County School Transportation system is continually recruiting potential school bus drivers. We are presently operating our bus system with a minimum number of drivers. We strongly encourage all parents and the general public to become involved and to help us replenish our driver list. To apply for a school bus driver position with Greene County Schools you will need to click on "Jobs" to access the Job Board.

Qualification Requirements are:

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older;
  2. Must have a Commercial Driver's License (A or B) with an S and P Endorsement

The pay scale will depend on experience with pay beginning at $15.00.

A Commercial Driver's License class will be provided by the Greene County School System for potential drivers that do not have a CDL. The next class will be announced shortly.
